Migration Wizard F1 Help (SSAS)
Use the Migration Wizard to migrate the metadata, and optionally the data, from an existing Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services database into a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services (SSAS) database. Additionally, the migration process can be saved to a script file for later migration. For more information about migrating Analysis Services databases, see Migrating Existing Analysis Services Databases.
Note
You must be a member of the Server Administrators role for the SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services instance that will receive the migrated databases to use the Migration Wizard.
The Migration Wizard guides you through some or all of the following steps:
- Identifying the source and destination servers.
- Choosing the source databases.
- Validating the databases.
- Migrating the databases.
- Previewing the migration process.
After migrating the databases, you can use SQL Server Management Studio or Business Intelligence Development Studio to edit their properties.
