Update Instance (Encryption)

Use to encrypt argument values, which might contain passwords and other sensitive data, before storing them in the database. To use argument encryption, you must specify the instance configuration file (ICF) on the General page and the EncryptArguments value in the configuration file must be true.

Options

  • Argument key
If EncryptArguments is set to true in the ICF, enter the encryption key in this box. The encryption key entered in this box must match the encryption key used when registering the instance of Microsoft SQL Server Notification Services.

If EncryptArguments is false or is not set, the Argument key box is not enabled.
