Using Internet Explorer to Check the Server Agent Configuration (SQL Server Compact Edition)
You can use Microsoft Internet Explorer to verify that you have configured the Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition Server Agent (Sqlcesa30.dll) correctly. In Internet Explorer, enter the URL for the SQL Server Compact Edition Server Agent (for example, http://sqlservername/sqlce/sqlcesa30.dll, where sqlce is the virtual directory). If the SQL Server Compact Edition Server Agent is configured correctly, Internet Explorer displays the string: "Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition Server Agent". You can find diagnostic and statistical details by using ?diag and ?stat parameters at the end of the URL. For more information, see Using SQL Server CompactEdition Server Agent Statistics to Troubleshoot Connectivity and Using SQL Server Compact Edition Server Agent Diagnostics to Troubleshoot Connectivity.
You can also use Internet Explorer to verify that Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) security is working as you intended. If you configured IIS to require Basic authentication, Internet Explorer should prompt you for your user name and password before displaying a response. If you configured IIS to use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption, the URL must specify HTTPS instead of HTTP.
When you use Internet Explorer to verify IIS security, you must close and reopen Internet Explorer each time you change any IIS security setting. Opening a new instance of Internet Explorer ensures that a new connection to IIS is established, instead of reusing an existing connection.
