Registration Information (SQL Server Express)

The Registration Information page of the Microsoft SQL Server Installation Wizard requests identification information to register your copy of SQL Server.

Options

Option Description

Name

Enter the name of a user responsible for administering the server that is running SQL Server 2005 Express Edition (SQL Server Express). A user name is required to continue setup.

Company

Enter the name of your company. For a personal copy of the product, you can provide your name again. Information for this field is optional.

Note

Because SQL Server Express is a free download, there is no Product Key text box on the Registration Information page.

Hide Advanced Configuration

At the bottom of the Registration Information page, there is a Hide Advanced Configuration Options check box. If this check box is selected, the following setup pages do not appear:

  • Instance Name
  • Service Account
  • Collation Settings
  • User Instances
