The Version Number of the Edge Transport Server Is Not Updated in the Exchange 2007 Management Tools
Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 will reach end of support on April 11, 2017. To stay supported, you will need to upgrade. For more information, see Resources to help you upgrade your Office 2007 servers and clients.
This topic provides information about how to troubleshoot a scenario in which the version of the Edge Transport server is not displayed correctly in the Exchange Management Console or in the Exchange Management Shell. This issue occurs after the Edge Transport server is upgraded to a later version.
When you install Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, and you install the Edge Transport server to the perimeter network, the version of Edge Transport server is displayed correctly in the Exchange Management Console and in the Exchange Management Shell.
However, if you upgrade the Edge Transport server to a later version, the version number does not change in the Exchange Management Console or in the Exchange Management Shell. This issue occurs because the connection between the Exchange server and the Edge Transport server is a one-way connection. Therefore, changes that occur on the Edge Transport server are not synchronized with the information that is displayed in the Exchange Management Console or in the Exchange Management Shell.
To work around this issue, remove the EdgeSync subscription, and then create a new EdgeSync subscription. For more information about how to remove and then re-create the subscription, see Understanding Edge Subscriptions.
