Remove-OABVirtualDirectory (RTM)

Use the Remove-OABVirtualDirectory cmdlet to remove a server from the offline address book (OAB) distribution points list.

Syntax

Remove-OabVirtualDirectory -Identity <VirtualDirectoryIdParameter> [-DomainController <Fqdn>] [-Force <SwitchParameter>]

Detailed Description

This cmdlet removes a Client Access server from the OAB distribution points list. For example, if you wish to uninstall a Client Access server that contains an OAB distribution points list, you will have to remove the OAB virtual directory and recreate it on another Client Access server.

To run the Remove-OABVirtualDirectory cmdlet, the account you use must be delegated the following:

  • Exchange Server Administrator role and local Administrators group for the target server

Microsoft.Exchange.Configuration.Tasks.VirtualDirectoryIdParameter

Use the Identity parameter to specify the GUID, distinguished name or offline address book virtual directory name that represents a specific offline address book virtual directory. You can also include the path by using the format Server\OfflineAddressBookVirtualDirectoryName.

You can omit the parameter label Identity so that only the offline address book virtual directory name or GUID is supplied.

DomainController

Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Fqdn

To specify the fully qualified domain name of the domain controller that retrieves data from Active Directory® directory service, include the DomainController parameter in the command.

Force

System.Management.Automation.SwitchParameter

If set to $true, this parameter forces the command to run now.

Example

The first example removes the default OAB virtual directory from the local server.
