Disabling the XML Expansion Pack Security Check [Office 2003 SDK Documentation]

Smart Documents require XML expansion pack manifest files to be digitally signed. To disable this functionality, run the DisableManifestSecurityCheck.reg file. This will change the registry setting so that Microsoft® Office 2003 will not require that your manifest files be signed during testing.

Every time you update the solution in this tutorial, you will receive the following message:

Important  You are strongly encouraged to disable XML expansion pack manifest security checking within a testing environment only and not on end-users' machines. The option to disable XML expansion pack security checking is included to make it easier for developers to test their smart documents during the development phase. For more information about security checking for XML expansion packs, see Security for XML Expansion Packs.
