Connection Properties
![]() |
The Properties Window for a connection between two chords in the Chord Path Window is shown in the following figure.
The window contains the following settings:
Connection Weight
Weight assigned to the connection when chord paths are selected during the composition process, in the range from 0 to 100. The greater the value, the greater the likelihood that the connection will be selected as a chord path is being traced. However, other factors such as the activity level of the segment are also taken into account in the selection of chord paths. For information on activity level, see Signpost Track Properties.
By default, all connections have a medium priority setting of 50. A setting of 0 specifies that the connection is never used.
Connection Length
Minimum and maximum number of beats between the connected chords. The text boxes are enabled only if the Edit Mode setting on the Chordmap Tab of the Chordmap Properties window is set to Variable. The default maximum value is determined by the current distance between the chords as measured by the chordmap timeline. For more information, see Fixed and Variable Connection Lengths.
