Back up the Forefront Identity Manager 2010 R2 Encryption Key

For this procedure, you can back up the encryption key that Microsoft® Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) 2010 R2 uses when encrypting data. It is strongly recommended that you save the encryption key to a floppy disk and keep it in a secure location for restore procedures. To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the FIMSyncAdmins security group.

To back up the FIM encryption key

  1. From a command window, change directory to InstallationDirectory\Bin

  2. Type: MiiskmuParameter
