Create a cost journal

A cost journal is used to create and post cost transactions. Before you enter and post cost transactions, you must create a cost journal by using one of the journal names that is created in the Journal names form (Click Cost accounting > Setup > Journal names.)

  1. Click Cost accounting > Journals > Cost transactions.

  2. Press CTRL+N to create a new line, and then select the appropriate journal name in the Name field.

  3. Click Lines.

  4. Press CTRL+N to create a new line.

  5. Enter all information about the transaction.

  6. Press CTRL+N to create additional lines.

  7. Click Validate and then Validate to validate the transactions.

  8. Click Post and then Post to post the transactions.

Note

You can only use the journal that you have created to post cost transactions. To post service transactions, use the Service transactions form.
