How to Change a Route for Staging

This topic provides instructions for changing a route in Commerce Server Staging (CSS). You can change the name of a route, the local directory that stores route information, and the servers that are used in the route.

If you change the name of the route, you must change the name of the route on every server in the route. You must also update the name of the route in each staging project to reference the new name. Unlike the route name, the route directory does not necessarily have to be the same on all servers in the route.

If you change the servers that are used in the route, all staging projects that reference the changed route will use the modified definition for the route. Do not change a server in a route if a deployment is occurring on that server. Before you change the servers in a route, make sure that any staging projects on the servers specified in the route are finished.
