Real-Time Performance Considerations

Real-time performance is affected by how well you use Windows Mobile to improve performance and by how successfully you avoid operations that affect performance.

Windows Mobile is used in both real-time environments and environments that are not real-time. To improve performance in a real-time environment, avoid using features in the OS within real-time threads and using components that are not real-time. Only use functionality such as demand paging, power management, and device I/O in an appropriate manner because these components and functionality are not specifically designed for a real-time OS.
