New Features
The option ‘Create desktop shortcut’ is now available for desktop flows in the console for premium users, allowing them to run a flow via a shortcut from their desktop without having to open the console.
The recorder has been redesigned, so its performance is now improved, and its context menus are now accessible. In addition, some new functionalities have been added therein:
- For certain actions like ‘Set dropdown list value’, a dedicated context menu appears to easily pick one of the available options.
- Interaction with custom elements such as Date pickers and Color pickers is now enabled.
- The recorder’s context menu, opened with right clicking on an element, is enhanced with more options, related to the type of the UI element.
- When capturing an element, a loading icon appears until the proper action is generated.
Enhancements & Improvements
Cross-tenant machine registration is now restricted by default:

- Define which tenant(s) to be allowed for machine registration
- Allow cross-tenant machine registration
- Allow tenant switching for machine registration
This feature is related to recent findings of Michael Bargury with Zenity.
Power Automate for desktop now supports the snap layouts that have been introduced in Windows 11, when hovering the mouse over the Maximize button.
Typing keywords in the search field of the actions pane can now match module or subfolder names as well, which appear expanded in the results to show the available actions therein.
The web recorder now supports the use of all the click types that are available in the action ‘Click link on web page’.
The relative mouse position and offset parameters have now been added in the ‘Click link on web page’ action.
RemoteApp applications are now supported for UI automation.
When a ‘Send keys’ action is generated by the web recorder, the browser instance is now selected to be focused to receive the keys.
Repaired Functionality
The following list details issues in Power Automate for desktop that are now resolved:
An issue was fixed with the execution of some flows which included multiple nested conditionals and were failing to run, either through the console or the designer.
The maximum dependency limit of direct or indirect child flows (30) for a parent flow is now always respected.
An issue was resolved for users that were not able to create new flows, while being members of a team with the proper role assigned, instead of having a direct assigned role.
A refactoring took place in the variables pane, which resolved some relevant minor issues on filtering, preview and view, sensitivity, pinning and renaming of variables.
An error occurring in the Custom form designer when using non-English languages has now been resolved.
Users now can’t delete all the selectors of a UI element, as per the expected behavior.
A couple of example desktop flows that were failing when running have now been fixed.
Variable merging now works as expected, when a new input variable is created with an existing name but different casing and marked as sensitive.
Clicking on the ‘Clear values’ icon now recompiles the script, restoring the original variable types where applicable.
The JSON format of input variables of list or custom object type has now been fixed, when switching to the JSON editor.
Reading all data from an Excel spreadsheet, which also includes empty cells, and storing in a datatable output variable now works as expected.
While extracting data during web recording, the context menus now appear closer to avoid accidental disappearing of the child menu.
The option ‘Select parent UI element’ now works properly, when used consecutively in the web recorder.
During recording on slower machines, an issue with the ‘Send keys’ action being generated after the action ‘Populate text field in window’ has been fixed.
The actions ‘Send keys’ and ‘Populate text field on web page’ are now captured as expected in the web recorder.
Expanding and collapsing tree items in certain applications via the respective action now works as expected.
An issue with the Power Automate agent for virtual desktops failing while uploading data, when hitting the Esc key, has been fixed.
Highlighting a parent element while trying to capture it in a Citrix/RDP session now appears in the correct position.
The action ‘Populate text field in window’ generated by the recorder no longer causes the highlighter to flicker in Citrix Desktop.
The Power Automate agent update overlay, when needed for multiple Citrix virtual apps, is no longer shown only on the first hovered app.
The text summary has now been improved on certain recorder activities.
The Right click option in the action ‘Click link on web page’ now works correctly and does not invoke the context menu of a browser taskbar item.
The recorder now captures as expected the ‘Select radio button on web page’ action, in web pages which faced the respective issue.
Dragging and dropping a UI element between two screens now works properly when applicable.
