Business value
The deployments hub for makers provides a unified view of deployment history and current state to makers in their development environments. As it's upgraded, the hub will serve as a central place for everything ALM—recommendations to improve ALM health, a unified deployment experience, and an overview of source control with related actions.
Feature details
For public preview, the deployment hub for makers will integrate three cards (failed deployments, active deployments, and recommendations) and a unified deployment history view of all deployments initiated by the current user.
On the left, makers will be able to view all their failed deployments, bringing attention to calls for action to retry or revise the solution in a way that enables a successful deployment.
In the center, makers can view all their ongoing deployments. Perhaps they're waiting for approval or a pre-deployment check; it's all available here and when it is complete, you'll know. This is especially useful for makers who work with multiple solutions.
On the right, we're integrating useful recommendations for makers to begin or uphold consistency with healthy ALM by ensuring that their apps are in solutions and using pipelines or participating in source control. More details on this will be coming soon.
At the bottom of the overview screen, pipeline users will see a grid they likely recognize: run history. This run history view is unique:
- It's filtered to only show your deployments specifically in this environment.
- It'ss upleveled to show all your deployments, not just involving one solution or pipeline.
In future updates, makers will be able to deploy any solution in their environment via a new unified pipelines deployment experience and also manage their source control all from the hub.
