Business value
Environment groups allow you to configure settings across multiple environments in bulk. Once these rules are enforced, environment administrators are unable to override the settings established by the central IT team through environment groups. This ensures consistent adherence to central IT policies.
Feature details
New rules for environment groups empower tenant administrators to efficiently apply and enforce critical, environment-level settings across multiple environments in bulk. The first wave introduces the capability to manage key settings within environment groups, including:
- Allowing or denying Copilot Bing search.
- Allowing or denying Copilot cross-geo data processing.
- Allowing or denying unmanaged customizations.
- Allowing or denying the publishing of canvas apps with code components.
Once enforced, these rules are unchangeable by environment administrators or users with lesser privileges. This ensures consistent adherence to central IT policies.
Additional rules will be continuously introduced over time, eventually providing comprehensive control over various key aspects of the Power Platform, with a particular focus on Copilot. This allows IT to progressively deploy and adopt Copilot across their organization at their own pace.
