Business value

Admins can create new environments as Managed Environments. This feature allows organizations to realize the following benefits:

  • Safeguard Power Platform assets from the beginning.
  • Unlock access to advanced, governance and application lifecycle management (ALM) capabilities.
  • Streamline license automation to end users.
  • Manage Power Platform resources with more control and visibility.

Feature details

Power Platform admins can create new environments as Managed Environments in the Power Platform admin center. The Enable Managed Environments option allows you to configure the settings for each Managed Environment.

The Enable Managed Environments option applies to all environment types, including production, sandbox, developer, trial, and subscription-based trials.

When creating a new environment as a Managed Environment, a Dataverse data store is automatically created, as it's required for all Managed Environments.

If a new environment is created for a selected environment group, it's automatically a Managed Environment.
