Business value
When building apps and flows, you might have company specific branding, links, connectors, business logic and more, that are reusable over and over again. Making all these from scratch every time is laborious and error prone. Catalogs in Power Platform will now allow you to customize templates specific to your organization and make these templates available for yourself and others to have more useful starting points to build from.
Feature details
Catalogs in Power Platform will be generally available in both Power Apps and Power Automate in April 2024. Makers can publish unmanaged solutions into the catalog for themselves or others to use in the future as more customized and useful starting points.
A centralized page to discover useful templates will include those created by your organization, standard components and apps provided by Microsoft, as well as any solutions from authorized partners. Makers can then acquire these templates and components from the catalog and save their own copies to build from.
Additionally, the catalog supports managed items, which are meant to be used "as is" with little additional editing allowed, while maintaining association with the original solution for future updates and versioning.
