Business value
Simplify your Power Virtual Agents bot topics by using subtopics, which separate common functionalities and topic segments into reusable building blocks. This means your bot authors can manage their work around specific areas more easily and spend less time trying to write complex conversation flows.
Feature details
Subtopics are called from within a parent topic, and they operate just like normal topics except that they run within the context of that parent topic. This means that when the conversation path is finished in the subtopic, it returns to the place from where it left in the parent topic.
For example, say you had a topic that is provided as a response when users ask for the best places to eat in a city. Within that topic, you might want to ask follow-up questions to determine the type of food they want, which area of the city, or the price range. You could design a conversation path that included all of these follow-up questions in the one topic, but it could become long and convoluted, and be hard to follow from an admin perspective.
Instead, you can have each follow-up question call a subtopic, and then return to the original topic to continue asking the other follow-up questions.
