Agency fee discount for renewals
As of October 1, 2024, a 50% discount can be applied to your existing marketplace transaction fee for private offer customer renewals. This renewal discount applies to the entire term of your private offer. Customer renewals are defined as either a:
- Renewal of a current private offer or paid marketplace deal
- Renewal of an existing paid agreement still in effect outside of the commercial marketplace that partners are migrating to the commercial marketplace
- An upselling opportunity with an existing paid customer, whether the initial deal occurred on the commercial marketplace or outside the commercial marketplace
The intent of this renewal discount is to incentivize continued customer business on the marketplace and reduce friction in moving partners’ existing customers to the marketplace. If the private offer is created for a new customer opportunity that wouldn't qualify for this renewal discount.
To receive the discount, you need to self-attest to the renewal status during private offer creation, then the discounted agency fee applies automatically. Private offers created before October 1, 2024 aren't eligible for this discounted fee. For deals enacted before October 1, 2024 a customer will need to turn-off autorenewal or cancel their subscription and a new private offer set-up with the renewal attestation checked to be eligible for the fee discount.
Follow these steps to self-attest to the renewal status of the private offer:
Sign in to Partner Center, and select the Marketplace offers workspace.
Select Private offers.
During private offer creation, you're asked to self-attest to the customer renewal status (see the following image). Affirming automatically enrolls you for the fee discount.
Important
Renewal self-attestation can only happen during private offer creation and can't be done retroactively via Partner Center or support after offer creation.
