Copilot Studio lets you create an agent, using built-in content building blocks containing topics, trigger phrases, and preauthored agent conversations.
Note
Agents created in Copilot Studio and in Microsoft Teams are automatically configured for Microsoft Entra ID authentication.
Go to the Copilot Studio home page, select Create in the left navigation, then select on the Agents page.
Alternatively, select + New agent on the Agents page.
Use the chat to describe your agent, using the provided questions for guidance.
Alternatively, select Skip to configure and fill the form.
Select Create.
You can create agents in the Copilot Studio app in Teams and then share them with other people in your team, company, or organization. Bots created in Teams are all classic chatbots.
When you create an agent, it must belong to a team. Everyone in that team can see and use the agent. You can share your agents with people in other teams after creation. If you want other people to edit the agent, add them to your team.
You can create a new team, if necessary, before you add an agent to it.
Important
You can't create an agent in a hidden membership team. Hidden membership is where members can't see the details of other members. If you try adding an agent to a hidden team, you see an error message.
The first time you create an agent in a team, it takes 1 to 10 minutes to build the necessary systems in the backend. Every agent you create after your first agent takes only 1 or 2 minutes to create.
Select the Power Virtual Agents icon In Teams to open the Copilot Studio app.
You can create a new agent in one of two ways:
Select Start now, then choose the team you want to use.
From the Agents tab, select a team to use, then choose New agent.
Note
If you were recently added to a team that already has an agent, you might see a message about it, since Teams is still adding you to the team. If so, create your agent in 15 minutes. Seeing a new team appear in the Agents tab might also take 15 minutes.
Give your agent a name and choose a language.
Select Create to begin the initial agent-building process for your team, which can take a few minutes.
You can close the loading window. The agent creation process continues in the background.
On the top menu bar, select the More options icon (…), then select Delete.
Confirm the deletion of the agent by typing the agent's name. Once you confirm, all agent content is deleted after a few minutes.
If your license is expired, you can delete your agents by selecting Permanently delete your agents.
You can delete agents to remove them from your team.
Open your agent.
Under Settings, select Details.
Select Delete.
Confirm the deletion of the agent by entering the agent's name.
All agent content is immediately deleted.
Known issues with creating an agent
When you're creating your agent, you might encounter these issues.
Insufficient permissions for the selected environment
You might see this error: "You don't have permissions to any environments, Get access from an administrator." To resolve the error, create a new environment. Use that environment to create your agent again.
