Admin-led trial sign-up experience

Some organizations don't allow their team members to sign up for trials directly. Therefore, when you try to sign up for the Microsoft Sustainability Manager trial, you might receive the following message: "Your company doesn't allow team members to sign up with their work email." In this case, you must work with your IT team and have the organization's Microsoft 365 administrators complete the process of joining your organization to the trial. This article describes the steps in the admin-led sign-up experience.

Deploy the trial

A Microsoft 365 administrator of your organization must follow these steps to deploy the Microsoft Sustainability Manager trial.

  1. Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
  2. In the left navigation, select Billing and then Purchase services.
  3. Search for the keyword Sustainability.
  4. On the app card for Microsoft Sustainability Manager Trial, select Details.
  5. Select Start free trial to initiate an order and checkout process.
  6. Select Try now to complete the checkout process. This step effectively purchases a license for the Microsoft Sustainability Manager trial and applies it to your organization free of charge ($0.00).
  7. Review the order confirmation, and then select Continue to return to your home page in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

You now have a Microsoft Sustainability Manager trial license for your organization.

Provision the application

To provision the application, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Power Platform admin center.

  2. Select the default environment created by Microsoft 365 to open its details page.

  3. In the Add database section, select Add database to provision a database for the selected environment.

    Note

    If the Add database link isn't available, a database has already been configured for the selected environment.

  4. In the Add database dialog box, accept the default values, and select Add to start the operation. Wait for the database to be deployed to the selected environment. An initial status of PreparingInstance displays. Preparation of the database instance might take a minute.

  5. After the database is ready for the selected environment, in the left navigation, select Resources and then Dynamics 365 apps.

  6. Search for the Microsoft Sustainability Manager Trial application.

  7. Select the More application actions button (three dots) next to the application, and then select Install.

  8. In the installation dialog box for the Microsoft Sustainability Manager Trial application, in the Select the environment field, specify the environment that was enabled by Microsoft 365 earlier. Wait for the dialog box to evaluate your privileges and show the selected environment. The Microsoft Sustainability Manager Trial application is installed in this environment.

  9. Select the I agree to the terms of service option to accept the application's terms and conditions of use.

  10. Select Install to start the installation process.

The Microsoft Sustainability Manager Trial application is installed in the selected environment. This process might take several minutes. You can refresh or close the browser window without affecting the installation process for your organization.

Add users

After the application is installed, you can add more users to it by using the environment details page.

  1. Go to the Power Platform admin center.
  2. Select the environment where the Microsoft Sustainability Manager Trial application is installed to open its details page.
  3. Select Users > See All, and add the required team members in your organization.
  4. In the Manage security roles dialog box, make sure that the System Administrator role is assigned to the users.
  5. Repeat this process for each user that you must add.

To enable your users to access the Microsoft Sustainability Manager Trial application, share the environment URL with them. You can find this URL on the environment details page.

You now have a Microsoft Sustainability Manager Trial application that is provisioned in your organization.
