Term Definition
Capability A specific functional capability in Sustainability data solutions in Fabric that can be deployed in a Fabric workspace. A capability consists of prebuilt notebooks, lakehouses, reports and pipelines that are deployed to the user selected workspace.
Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) A European Union directive that aims to improve and standardize the sustainability reporting of companies, requiring them to disclose detailed information on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors. CSRD expands upon the previous Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD) and sets out more stringent requirements for companies to report how sustainability issues affect their business and how their business impacts people and the environment.
ESG Refers to the three central factors used to measure the sustainability and ethical impact of an investment in a company or business.

Environmental: How a company performs in relation to environmental conservation, including issues like climate change, carbon emissions, and resource management.

Social: How a company manages relationships with employees, suppliers, customers, and the communities in which it operates. This includes labor practices, diversity, and human rights.

Governance: How a company is governed, including leadership, executive pay, audits, internal controls, and shareholder rights.
