Business value
Use International Energy Agency (IEA) emission factors in Microsoft Sustainability Manager to accurately calculate emissions. Use IEA's emission factors to understand the carbon footprint of electricity generation, aiding in the development of strategies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In addition, these calculations can assist with regulatory compliance, risk management, and cost reduction.
Feature details
Sustainability Manager now supports the calculation of emissions using IEA emission factors. You can download them from the Microsoft Cloud Solution Center.
The IEA factor library is available to use alongside our other emission factor libraries in Sustainability Manager. However, there are some licensing restrictions. You can use the factor values in calculations, but you can't see them in the user interface. You can only see the values when you download them in a PDF file, and you can only see the specific factor values that you used in your calculations.
Using the IEA factor library includes the following steps:
Ensure the country/region of interest is available in the library and create factor mappings, if needed.
Create a calculation model and calculation profile that references the library and specific factor, and then run the calculation profile.
Export the factors to PDF.
