Create a skill gap analysis or a skill profile analysis

You can use skill gap analysis to compare a person’s skill profile with a profile for a particular job as of a particular date.

You can use a skill profile analysis to see a list of a person’s kills and to see a skill wheel that graphically represents a person’s actual skill levels compared to target skill levels.

Create a skill gap analysis to compare a person’s skills with the skills that are required for a job

You can compare a worker with the job that he or she currently holds, or you can compare an applicant with a job that they applied for. This comparison helps identify strengths and weaknesses in a person’s skill profile, and can indicate appropriate skill development activities for a worker or help to find the right applicant for a job.

To create a skill gap analysis

  1. Click Human resources > Inquiries > Skill analysis > Skill gap analysis job - person.

  2. Select the person whose skills you want to analyze.

  3. Select a date. The actual skill levels for the person on the date that you select are used for the analysis.

  4. To show only jobs that the person is, or has been affiliated with, select the Jobs related to reference check box.

  5. Select the job to run the analysis for.

  6. Click Update.

Create a skill profile analysis

You can create a skill profile analysis to view the actual skill level for a person compared to the target skill level.

To create a skill profile analysis

  1. Click Human resources > Inquiries > Skill analysis > Skill profile analysis.

  2. Select the person to analyze skills for.

  3. Select a date. The actual skill levels for the person on the date that you select are used for the analysis.

  4. Click Update.

Copying an analysis to your clipboard

In any skill profile analysis, you can copy the skill wheel graphic and then paste the image into an email or other document. To copy the skill wheel graphic, click Copy to clipboard or right-click the image and select Copy.
