Inventory - Transaction Detail (report)
The Inventory - Transaction Detail report shows all inventory transaction details for selected items for a period you specify.
The report shows:
- Information such as Posting Date, Entry Type, Document No., Description, and Entry No.
- The quantity at the beginning of the period.
- All increase and decrease entries during the period with a running update of the inventory.
- The quantity at the close of the period.
Use the report to track changes in inventory and for audits at the close of an accounting period.
Use cases
Inventory or warehouse managers use the report to:
- Review the quantity of stock in the warehouse at the beginning and end of a period.
- Monitor the inventory movements of specific items for the period.
- Investigate discrepancies between the inventory records and the actual inventory count.
Supply chain managers use the report to:
- Track inventory movements of specific items for a period.
- Identify trends and patterns in inventory movements.
- Forecast future demand for selected items based on historical inventory movements.
Financial analysts use the report to:
- Analyze the cost of goods sold for a period.
- Determine the value of inventory at the beginning and end of a period.
- Identify slow-moving and fast-moving inventory items.
