Upgrading to Dynamics 365 Business Central Online

If you want to move your current solution to Business Central online, the path depends on your current solution. In most cases, it's a matter of migration rather than upgrade due to the nature of online services. The core scenario is to import existing data to an empty company in a Business Central online tenant. For more information, see Take prospects and customers online.

Upgrading to the latest version of Business Central

Business Central online, is a managed environment where Microsoft manages the upgrade process. You can specify upgrade windows in the Business Central administration center, and Microsoft will notify you if your tenant runs into problems during the upgrade. Note

The concept of technical upgrades that you might have been used to in on-premises deployments is not supported in Business Central online.
