Remarks
There are two kinds of user defaults, persistent and volatile. Persistent user defaults are stored after you make changes to them, while volatile settings are transient, they might be created on demand, and will cease existence when the application terminates or the object is disposes.
In the case of StandardUserDefaults it is created at startup based on the environment settings. These defaults contain settings that are the concatenation of parsing the command line arguments.
