Azure portal: Create a virtual network and VM

Introduction 

An Azure virtual network (VNet) is a representation of your own network in the cloud. You can control your Azure network settings and define DHCP address blocks, DNS settings, security policies, and routing. You can also further segment your VNet into subnets and deploy Azure IaaS virtual machines (VMs) and PaaS role instances, in the same way you can deploy physical and virtual machines to your on-premises datacenter. In essence, you can expand your network to Azure, bringing your own IP address blocks.

Step: 1 Login in to Microsoft azure ( https://portal.azure.com) portal with your credential

Step: 2 Click on the https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/site/view/file/215983/1/1.png button in the left side blade.

Step: 3 Select Networking Option and then Click on the https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/site/view/file/215984/1/2.png button.

Step: 4 enter the unique name for the virtual network “dotnetlearningschool.com-vnet-hc-si” (domain –vnet-horizontal group-region)

Step: 5 enter the IP address for the above mentioned vnet

Step: 6 select your azure subscription account as of now am using “Free Trial” account.

Step: 7 create new /select existing resource group

Step: 8  select any region from location dropdown; here I have selected “South India”

Step: 9  enter the name for subnet and enter the IP address for the same.

Step: 10 Click on the https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/site/view/file/215989/1/7.png button.

Step 11:  Once vnet is created we will be notified from the Notification Window, Then Click on the https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/site/view/file/215990/1/8.pngbutton in the Notification Window or click on the https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/site/view/file/215991/1/9.png  button in right side blade.

Step: 12 click on the https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/site/view/file/215993/1/9.png button in the right side blade, then will be getting list of resource.

 

Step: 13 click on the any one of the vnet which is available the in the all resource group section and we can able to check detailed information about the selected vnet/ particular item.

Step: 14 click on the https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/site/view/file/215996/1/13.png button in the right side blade and the click on thehttps://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/site/view/file/215997/1/14.pngbutton to create subnets for the selected vnet item.

Step: 15 Click on the https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/site/view/file/216000/1/1.png button in the left side blade.

Step 16: Select Compute Option and then filter with windows server hit enter.

Step 17: choose Windows Server 2012 Datacenter and the click on the https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/site/view/file/216002/1/18.png button.

Step 18: enter virtual machine name “vm-hc-si-prod” and the select region

Step 19: select the size of virtual machine and then choose particular item from the list

Step 20: set username and password for the VM and then click on the https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/site/view/file/216007/1/23.png

Step 21: if you want set private IP then select None in public IP section

Step 22: if you want enable RDP for the VM then set RDP port.

Step 23: other tabs like https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/site/view/file/216010/1/26.png let it be defaulted option then click on the https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/site/view/file/216011/1/27.png

Step 24:  button will be enabled, once all the validation is passed and click on the  button to create VM
