SharePoint 2016: Configure Outgoing email settings using Gmail

Hi,

We can configure outgoing email settings in SharePoint 2016 using Gmail.

The steps are below:

  • Create a Gmail account.
  • Enable POP3 in your Gmail account.
  • In your SharePoint server enable SMTP feature. This, in turn, enables IIS 6.
  • Configure SMTP server in IIS 6 to send using your Gmail account.
  • Enter the information in your Central Admin.
