Prerequisites

For the installation of Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 we need to install ADDS and DNS.

If you are planning to install Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 on member server then you don’t need to install ADDS and DNS.

Before Installation of Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 Run Some Commands on Power Shell.

Install RSAT-ADDS by running the cmdlet Add-WindowsFeature RSAT-ADDS

RSAT-ADDS command allows exchange setup to extend AD Schema and prepare the domain for exchange installation.

Now again run some commands on PowerShell 

Install-WindowsFeature AS-HTTP-Activation, Desktop-Experience, NET-Framework-45-Features, RPC-over-HTTP-proxy, RSAT-Clustering, RSAT-Clustering-CmdInterface, RSAT-Clustering-Mgmt, RSAT-Clustering-PowerShell, Web-Mgmt-Console, WAS-Process-Model, Web-Asp-Net45, Web-Basic-Auth, Web-Client-Auth, Web-Digest-Auth, Web-Dir-Browsing, Web-Dyn-Compression, Web-Http-Errors, Web-Http-Logging, Web-Http-Redirect, Web-Http-Tracing, Web-ISAPI-Ext, Web-ISAPI-Filter, Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console, Web-Metabase, Web-Mgmt-Console, Web-Mgmt-Service, Web-Net-Ext45, Web-Request-Monitor, Web-Server, Web-Stat-Compression, Web-Static-Content, Web-Windows-Auth, Web-WMI, Windows-Identity-Foundation

These command allows to install Web Server (IIS) Role and features.

Note: After installation of pre-requisite roles and features will Reboot machine.

After Rebooting machine install 2 pre-requisite software’s. 

1: .NET Framework 4.5.2

2:  Microsoft unified communications managed API 4.0, Core Runtime 64-bit

Installation

After Installation of Pre-Requisit software's Double click on Exchange 2016 Setup and follow the instructions.

Microsoft recommends to always check for updates before you start the installation and Click Next.

 

Read the welcome message and click next

Accept the terms and license agreement and click next

Use Recommended Settings and click next

Check mailbox role Management tools will be check automatically. Click Next

Now browse the location where you want to install Microsoft Exchange Server.

Enter the organization name and click next

Don’t not Disable Malware Scanning. It will help and protect messaging environment.  Check NO and click next

Now Machine will check prerequisite before installation of Microsoft Exchange Server.

After checking Perquisite now click on install and start installation of Microsoft Exchange Server 2016

During installation process, Exchange Server will perform 15 steps

  • Stopping Services
  • Copy Exchange Files
  • Language Files
  • Restoring Services
  • Languages
  • Management Tools
  • Mailbox Role: Transport Service
  • Mailbox Role: Client Access Service
  • Mailbox Role: Unified Messaging Service
  • Mailbox Role: Mailbox Service
  • Mailbox Role: Front End Transport Service
  • Mailbox Role: Client Access Front End Service
  • Finalizing Setup

After Installation click on Finish and Reboot your Machine. After Reboot Enjoy your Microsoft Exchange Server 2016.
