Enghouse EICC 2016 Server Migration - Lync Server 2013 to Skype for Business Server
In place migration for Enghouse EICC 2016 from Lync server 2013 to Skype for Business Server. This is assuming that you have already upgraded your front end pool to Skype for Business Server. Please remember as always to do this during a scheduled downtime. This Lync Server 2013 to Skype for Business Server upgrade will be done on Windows Server 2012 R2 on a Enghouse EICC Server registering to the front end pool.
Prerequisites: Skype for Business Server, Server 2012 R2 prerequisites on the EICC Server.
- Update SQL server express to SP1 on the EICC Server - Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Express
- Open powershell in Administrator mode and run the following command in the directory with SQLEXPR_x64_ENU.exe and follow the prompts to update SQL.
.\SQLEXPR_x64_ENU.exe /ACTION=Patch /allinstances
- Run Windows update to the most recent updates
- Install KB 2982006 - KB 2982006 Download - Here is the link for the download from Microsoft - This is a pain to get from the KB page since you need to request the link from Microsoft and they email it to you. This is the page to request the link if you choose to go that path, KB2982006 Page.
- Open Powershell in Administrative mode and run Stop-CsWindowsService
- Download and Install Lync Server 2013 updates Lync Server 2013 Update Installer
- After Completion there will be green check marks.
- Reboot EICC Server
Updating Topology: Skype for Business Server, Server 2012 R2 with Enghouse/Zeacom Topology on a Front end Server.
- Run Topology Builder on an existing Skype for Business Server in the Front End Pool
- In the left pane, navigate to Lync server 2013 - Trusted Application Servers. Right Click on the EICC Server to be upgraded and select Upgrade to Skype for Business Server 2015.
- Select Yes at the Upgrade for Skype for Business Server 2015 Prompt.
- Publish the Topology and Verify Replication with the EICC Server with Get-CsManagementStoreReplicationStatus
Upgrading EICC Server: Skype for Business Server, Server 2012 R2 with Enghouse/Zeacom on the EICC Sever. Make sure to disable application monitoring targeted at the EICC server because it will be throwing errors like these during the upgrade.
- Run Stop-CsWindowsService on the EICC server in administrator powershell. Yes it is Stop-CsWindowsService, don't disable the EICC server.
- Run Skype for Business Server 2015 Setup on the EICC Server and select do not check for updates.
- Accept the license agreement and run the installer, if all prerequisites are satisfied the installer will run though and upgrade. This may take a few minutes to complete so get some coffee and snacks and you may need to reboot during the update. Once the upgrade has successfully completed, the Completed Successfully screen will pop up. Click OK to complete.
Download the Skype for Business Update Installer here. Run the update installer on the EICC Server to update the newly migrated EICC Skype for Business Server.
Run Start-CsWindowsServices in administrator powershell.
Do not forget to restart the CTI application server after the upgrade. To do this open Communications Center Application Manager and restart CTI Application Server. Give the CTI Server 30 minutes to start everything. The application will not route calls correctly if this is not done.
