FIM: How to Acquire the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Client Access Server (CAS Server) Information for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Provisioning

Purpose

The purpose of this page is to provide the steps necessary to gather the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Client Access Server (CAS Server) information when using the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Provisioning.

Steps to collect the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Client Access Server (CAS Server) Information

  1. Go to a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 machine
  2. Open the Exchange Management Shell
  3. Type the following and press the ENTER key
    1. Get-ClientAccessServer |fL > CAS.TXT
  4. Open the CAS.TXT file in Notepad
  5. Locate the FQDN line, and copy that information
  6. Go back to the Synchronization Service Manager machine
  7. Select Management Agents, and select the management agent that is exporting to Microsoft Exchange Server 2010
  8. Select Configure Extensions
  9. Ensure that provisioning is set for Exchange 2010
  10. Paste the FQDN from the CAS.TXT file into the URI and add http:// to the beginning and /powershell to the end.
    1. e.g. http:// < CAS SERVER FQDN >/powershell
  11. Click Ok
