Office 365: License monitoring
Slowly but surely, the Office 365 dev team is adding reporting functionality to their platform, to the delight of admins and managers alike. For admins, it means a lot fewer scripts to write, for managers it means knowing....stuff.
If you have thousands of users, they all consume licenses, it's useful to have a list of assigned licenses...
Most customers very much like to strip licenses from users that haven't logged in since x amount of time.
Especially for companies with geographically dispersed users and inefficient exit procedures, this can save a lot of licensing costs over time by keeping your license pool in sync with your actual number of active information workers.
Toyed a little with Powershell, and ended up with a PowerShell script to generate a license and account overview, like this:
