Microsoft Dynamics Ax 2012 – Disassembling Process of Finished Products
This article covers disassembling process of Finished Item, before starting disassembling process of Finished Item, view on-hand inventory of “Finished Item” and its “Line Items” to verify that which quantities are updated once process completed.

After the completion of disassembling process “Finished Item” quantity will reduce and “Line Items” quantity will increase as per BOM.
To access the BOM window:
Path: -Product information Management => Released products => Engineer tab => Lines

On “Engineer” tab from action pan click “Lines” BOM window of “Finished Item” will be open.

We have reviewed all the information, now we are going to start disassembling process.
Path: – Product Information Management => Common => Released Product
Select the particular product and go to “Engineer” tab and Click “Report as finished”

Following screen will be open:

On above screen enter the required Information site, warehouse, quantity (should be negative) and click “OK”. Before click “Ok” make sure Post now checkbox should be un-checked.
It will create “Bill of material” journal
Path: – Inventory and warehouse management => journals => Item transactions => Bill of material

Select the journal and click “Lines” to review the journal lines.

Post the journal and review on-hand inventory of “Finished Item” and “Line Items”

On following screen you can see updated quantities of “Finished Item” and “Line items”.
