Exchange 2016 Troubleshooting: Upgrade from previous version

Issue

During the Exchange 2016 installation routine, if the source machine you are running setup from has a previous version of Exchange installed setup will fail during pre-requisite checks. 

Cause

This is by design as there is no in-place upgrade from a previous version of Exchange on a source server. 

Solution

Exchange 2016 installation can co-exist with previous Exchange 2013 installations (on a separate server) as long as the installation has been updated to CU10.
