Azure Site Recovery jobs failing with error "Server isn't connected to the Internet". Error 25018

Symptom

Azure Site Recovery Job fails with an error The VMM/Hyper-V/Configuration server isn't connected to the Internet. after 2 hours. 

Error message

Message: The VMM/Hyper-V/Configuration server isn't connected to the Internet.

Possible cause: VMM/Hyper-V/Configuration server 'host1.contoso.com' might not be running, or it couldn't communicate with Microsoft Azure Site Recovery.

Resolution

These failures occur when on-premises Provider installed isn't able to communicate with Azure Site Recovery vault. Check the provider to Azure connectivity by following below instructions.

  1. Logon to Azure Portal.
  2. Browse to your Recovery Services vault -> Site Recovery Infrastructure 
  3. Select SERVER type based on the protection scenario. Select VMM servers for VMM Site protection, CONFIGURATION SERVERS for VMware/Physical protection & HYPER-V hosts for Hyper-V host protection. 
  4. Ensure that the "LAST CONTACT AT" date & time is latest. If it's older than 5 minutes then there is any issue.
  5. Check the ERROR DETAILS for more information.

Most likely the issue would be related to network issues between your Servers and the Azure Site recovery services. Follow the recommended actions in the error details to resolve the problem.
