MS Operations Management Suite Survival Guide

Introduction

What is a survival guide? It’s a page created as a pointer to information on the web. You can use the information below to learn the fundamentals of the Microsoft Operations Management Suite and share information with other community members. Resources are categorized based on the type of content (video, training, blog article, etc.) as well as the age of the content, with the most recent articles listed at the top of the list, generally speaking.

Please add useful articles and training resources you find are not already in the lists below.

NOTE: The "collection of links" blog articles have been intentionally left out as they simply point to subsets of the resources shared here. To keep the resources here lean and relevant, it will be helpful to simply put direct resource links here to prevent sending visitors into a "content loop" where they encounter the same links repeatedly.

Background

The current Microsoft Operations Management Suite (OMS) is an evolution from Azure Operational Insights (originally announced under the System Center Advisor and released in limited public preview in May 2014 at the MS TechEd conference in Houston). The name was changed to Azure Operational Insights when the full public preview  was announced in November 2014. The original System Center Advisor achieved generally availability in January 2012, but had been introduced some months earlier under the codename "Atlanta".
