SSRS: Nested Tables or Tables within Tables

 

Problem

Sometimes we have a data that has different Details but we need to show all in Single Report. Now we have choice either we can design a report with multiple Tablix for each Group Type or we can Design a report using Nested table structure (Table within Table).

Solution

Input Dataset

Step 1

Insert one List Control in Report Area and Delete Details from Row Group Area.

Step 2

. Group by on Row Group on the basis of column in which you what detail data like “Department“.

Step 3

. Delete Column from Tablix that is used for “

Department

” .use Delete Columns Only.

Step 4

. In Tablix -> Right Click on Row ->Insert row-> Inside group below

Step 5.

Now you have skeleton use upper cell for Report Header that will be “Department“.

Step 6.

Drag one Tablix in Second Cell -> Bind data you require .
