How To Put Ads On Windows Application?
In this post, we will see that how you can put ad’s on Windows apps. Whether you are developing application for Windows Store or Windows Phone, this post will definitely help you. Microsoft Advertising’s pubCenter will be our platform. It is a publisher platform that enables app developers to deliver targeted advertisements to Windows Phone and Windows Store applications.
1. So, the first thing you have to do is to open your browser (Mozilla, Chrome or whatever you are using) and open Microsoft Advertising’s pubCenter .

2. Microsoft Account is required to get access to it. If you have the account, log in and click on the “Monetize New App”. If you don’t have the account then well there is always an option of creating a new one. Click here :)

3. Following screen will appear. Select ‘Windows’ in device type if your application is for Windows 8.1, otherwise select ‘Windows Phone’ if your application is for Windows Phone. I am selecting Windows 8.1 as I am going to put it on my Windows Store application.

4. In this step you are required to put your application name in the first field and in the next one you will name your Ad Unit and select the size of the ad as pointed out by red circles in the image below.

5. The blue area shows the size of the ad. So, it will be easy for you to select it. This is how your ad will appear on your application.

6. You can select the ad category according to your application. But it’s not mandatory, to choose it according to your application category.

7. Click on ‘Save’ and you are done.

8. Now, leave your browser and open Visual Studio 2013. Then open the application on which you are going To put the ad on. On the left bar you will see the ‘Toolbox’ option as shown in the Image below. Click on it and write ‘AdControl’ in the given field.

9. Simply click on the “AdControl” and drag it on to the main page (or the page you are going to put ad on).

10. Now, here’s the most important part go back to your browser and open your Ad. On the right bottom of the page you will see the ‘Application ID’ and ‘Ad unit ID’ as shown.

11. Go back to the Visual Studio, in the bottom of page you will see the ApplicationId, AdUnitID, height, and width. Copy the Application Id and Ad unit Id from, pubcenter and paste them to your application. Like this:

12. Adjust the height and width according to your Ad Size.

13. Now, save your project and run it. See, this is how your Windows Store ad will appear when you run it.
