You can set up Windows Media Center to open automatically when you turn on your computer and start Windows. Here are step by step instructions to launch Windows Media Center automatically in Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center:

  1. Press Win + R keys to launch Run menu.

  2. In the blank space type in: shell:startup and hit the Enter Key.

  1. Open the default file location of Windows Media Center.It is located at:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories

  1. Scroll down to Windows Media Center shortcut.

  2. Right click on it and copy the shortcut and paste the same under C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup which you have already opened  via shell:startup command earlier.
