Remotely Verify the State of the SCCM Service on a Windows 7 Workstation

Purpose

Many times, Systems Administrators (admins) need to verify the state of the Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) service on a remote Windows 7 workstation.

Assumptions

1) You have appropriate rights/privs to modify/administer the remote workstation

Check the Status of the Remote SCCM Service

From the Windows 7 command prompt, type:

  

sc \\remote-computer query ccmexec

Where "remote-computer" is the name of the remote Windows 7 workstation for which you need to check the status of the SCCM Service.
