FIM Troubleshooting: SUN One MA Import Stopped-Connectivity

PROBLEM STATEMENT

The SUN One Management Agent on import fails.  Review of the Operations Tab displayed the Status of stopped-connectivity.  It appears that it is throwing the stopped-connectivity status because of "failed search on distinguished name".

Troubleshooting Steps

1.  Checked the run history/operations

2.  The stopped-connectivity error occurring during step:  Full Import and Full Synchronization

3.  Using the combined run profile step it was hard to tell which piece was failing, the import or the synchronization

4.  We broke run profile into two steps:  Full Import (Stage Only) and Full Synchronization

RESOLUTION

  • Use a two step run profile instead of the single step run profile
  • Once we moved from the single step run profile to the two step, the issue resolved itself.
