Geographical View to Monitor SCCM 2012 SP1 Hierarchy (Your SCCM Sites on Bing Maps)
Isn’t it interesting to see your entire SCCM hierarchy on Map, with sites showing in their location on world map as they are.…Probably this may help you have better presentation slide when you present your hierarchy next time to business/management.
**
Well, this is possible in SCCM 2012 SP1, to view your hierarchy displayed on Bing maps, with in SCCM console**

Prerequisites:
An easy to achieve prerequisite, for many. SCCM server where console is installed should possess internet explorer and Internet connection, that’s all J, and SCCM uses these components to retrieves the maps on which SCCM hierarchy will be presented at various locations identified and mapped to respective sites by you once
How to configure:
Navigate to SCCM 2012 SP1 console > Monitoring > Site Hierarchy. You will see your site presented by default in “Hierarchy Diagram”, with an option to switch to “Geographical View”. Then it loads Bing maps and alerts you to configure (rather map site to location) Site location of each SCCM site.
1) Right Click Site Hierarchy Again in console and select “Configure View Settings” and chose “Site Location” Tab
2) You will see all sites of your hierarchy presented and you need to type respective location name of each city (Like Seattle, Hyderabad etc)
Tip: Sometimes you location names are not accepted and console thrown an error, in which case you need to type location code of that city, which can be retrieved by Bing Map if you search that city. I guess this represents longitude or altitude or sorts
(E.g. Mumbai can be found on Bing map with 18.97542 72.829712)
3) Post configuring all sites to respective cities, close the “Configure View Settings” window to see that your hierarchy is now visible on Bing maps
Isn’t it pretty easy and this feature sounds simple but useful one to represent site in easy to view manner. What is best is, when you mouse hover the SCCM site on map, it shows its health status as well “Alert Status OK” or sorts. Also Graphical view displays replication links of Parent Child sites of your SCCM hierarchy
Hope you find it useful and Happy Reading !!!
