Steps:

  1. Open windows 7 and run windows 8 Setup(DVD)

  2. Choose any of the 3 choices, recommended is 1st one "Keep Windows settings, personal files, and apps" this will keep your system settings saved in windows 8 as "windows.old folder in c:\ drive " which you can delete any time with the help of Disk Cleaner.

  3. Setup then checks for any incompatible software, it displays list of those applications which are not compatible with windows 8 better uninstall them one by one.
    If you are using Dell PC with windows 7, your Bluetooth driver might be incompatible so uninstall it, you can download compatible driver from the support.dell.com

  4. Now, your system will restart several times, just leave it and finally windows 8 welcome screen will arrive!
