Windows Computer is Automatically Renamed to a Name with 15 Characters

Windows® computer names are limited to 15 characters to accommodate NetBIOS naming conventions. If you attempt to join a computer to a domain and attempt to use a name that is over 15 characters, the name will be automatically changed to one that has only 15 characters.
