IMPORTANT

Introduction
The PowerShell Collector is used to collect software information from remote Windows based computers. PowerShell 2.0 or higher must be installed and remote PowerShell must be enabled on the target computers. This collector technology is used for these inventory scenarios.
- Forefront Endpoint Protection Server
- Lync Server
- Exchange Server
- Windows Volume Licensing
- Software ID (SWID) tags
- Client Access Tracking for Remote Desktop Services
Ports 5985 and 5986 are the default ports for PowerShell HTTP and HTTPS respectively. In the inventory wizard, you can change the port that MAP uses if a non-default port is used in your environment. If you use SSL Certificates to validate your connection you can check the Validate SSL Certificate box. Make sure the certificate has been added to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities\Certificates folder in the certmgr.msc MMC snap-in on the MAP machine so that MAP can use it for authentication.
