Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Danny Crone

This post is part of an ongoing series of Rangers introductions. See An index to all Rangers covered on this blog for more details.

Who you are?

My name is Danny Crone, I am a Test Practitioner and Technical Director at nFocus Testing. I have been in Software engineering for over 20 years and although I am a developer at heart, I have been in the Quality Assurance game for most of my IT career. I am a regular speaker at Testing events and also Microsoft ALM events and have a real passion for Automated Testing.

What makes you “tick”?

I love challenges and helping others with their challenges, testing is always tough and I enjoy driving efficiencies into the test process to help build better software. I also love new technology, gadgets, skiing and helping my little boy Tom who has CP excel at all the things he does:

Where you live?

Telford, Shropshire in the UK

Where is the place you call home?

Home is where the heart is! Currently my heart is in Telford where I live with my wife, two kids and dog. I was born and raised in Liverpool, so at heart, I am a Scouser, where we all look like this:

Why are you active in the Rangers program?

I genuinely believe that Visual Studio ALM improves software developers and testers lives and helps produce better software! I want to be involved in making it better and helping people get real value out of using it.

What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?

The Word4TFS is my first and favourite as for a tester, being able to get beautiful documentation out of TFS is essential ;)
