Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Andrew Clear
This post is part of an ongoing series of Rangers introductions. SeeRanger Index (Who is Who?)for more details.
I’m Andrew Clear, and I’m an ALM Developer for Northwest Cadence. I come from a mixed background, everything from the US Marine Corps to a traveling poker dealer with degrees in both Mathematics and Computer Science. I’m an active member on Stack Exchange on both Stack Overflow and Project Management, and I also blog regularly for Northwest Cadence.
What makes you “tick”?
De-mystifying agile methodologies by returning the conversation to one based on principles and mathematics. Very rarely is the out-of-the-box methodology a perfect fit for an organization. I love cutting through the hyperbole and returning the agile conversation to the mathematically sound core.
Where you live?
Tacoma, WA by way of Kaneohe, HI and The Palm Springs of Washington.
Why are you active in the Rangers program?
I’m really excited to be part of a community that helps shape the future of the Visual Studio product suite, especially with the massive improvements with the 2012 launch and the whole-hearted adoption agile philosophies. I’m particularly excited about the expanding agile management support. I hope that as a member of the ALM Rangers I can expand that functionality and be a part of improving the usability of the suite.
What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?
I’m new to the ALM Rangers and look forward to working on my first project. As a consumer of quite of few of the different Ranger’s Guidance documents I hope to make an impact keeping these documents up to date with the latest changes and advancements.
