Exchange Partners Make the Switch From Notes Even Easier

Exchange is fortunate to have a strong Partner community that helps our customers plan, deploy, and manage their Exchange environments.  Our Notes migration Partners have added an extra dimension by providing services and tools to move customers’ data and resources from complex and long-standing Notes environment over to Microsoft infrastructures.  Today I want to recognize a few of these Partners.

Dimension Data has been in the IT services business for over 25 years.  I spoke recently to Peter Menadue, who is the General Manager of Dimension Data’s Microsoft Solutions business.  Peter was amazed at the momentum he has seen with customers moving to Exchange Server 2010.

“The strongest interest in Exchange 2010 over the last year has come from Notes customers, who just cannot wait any longer to migrate.  Their Notes infrastructures don’t meet the needs of their businesses.  And when they find out they are not the only Notes customer to leave and that Dimension Data has helped lots of companies migrate, the decision gets a lot easier.”  Peter Menadue, Global General Manager, Microsoft Solutions Business at Dimension Data

Quest Software has been around since 1987 and services 87% of the Fortune 100.  Quest has helped companies such as Vodafone, Coca-Cola Bottling, and Fidelity National Information Services migrate from Lotus Notes to Exchange, SharePoint, and Microsoft Online Services.  Quest has invested heavily in Notes migration tools, and has been migrating Notes companies to Microsoft on-premise and cloud environments for a long time.

“For more than a decade, Quest and Microsoft have excelled together in helping move nearly 30 million end users to on-premises and online versions of Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint.” Bill Evans, Vice President and General Manager, SharePoint and Notes Transition, at Quest Software

Binary Tree specializes in migration tools and services and has worked on many Notes to Exchange migrations, including Coca-Cola Enterprises, Ingersoll Rand, and Blockbuster.

“Lotus Notes is so entrenched sometimes in the environment, some people call it the asbestos of IT.  So, it really takes interesting technology and methodology to be able to move it out.”  Henry Bestritsky, co-CEO at Binary Tree

All three of these companies have years of experience migrating former Notes customers over to Microsoft products.  If you are one of the remaining companies on Notes, can you really afford to wait?  To learn more about Exchange Partners, go to https://www.microsoft.com/exchange/en-us/partners.aspx.

Interesting how these same companies make tools to go to Notes from Exchange.  They are service companies that make revenue from migrations in your examples.  I am sure they migrate both directions and to other platforms.  That seems to be missing.

Hmmm, nothing about Lotus for months, then 3 in a row...  The Lotusphere conference is on next week... just coincidence?
