Best Practices for SAP on Hyper-V

Hyper-V’ers,

A SAP on Hyper-V paper was just brought to my attention. It has a very good overview of Hyper-V and how it benefits SAP,  The document focuses on getting SAP running well in Hyper-V and has lots of great technical information.  One thing I wish the paper had was solid performance data showing how the suggestions help improve performance and what the overhead is when going from physical to virtual.  Even without that the paper is a good read.

  Enjoy,

    Tony

Hi Tony, I am trying to build a monitoring tool for Hyper V.  I need some docs on the WMI classes for Hyper V.  I have trouble relating virtualization space classes (rootvirtualization) with performance Counter classes ( rootcimv2).   How do we link Msvm_LogicalDisk --> Win32_PerfRawData_StorageStats_HyperVVirtualStorageDevice In the Msvm_LogicalDisk - we get the total size of the disk.  We can get the corresponding  Read Bytes/Sec & Write Bytes/Sec.   But we are not able to correlate the disk with the VM.   Please provide some pointers. --Edwin.
